Today marks our first full day of the week. It's a day of challenges that pushes students outside of comfort zones and toward each other. Below is a six minute clip that will take you through the sounds and stories behind EPIC MONDAY! Grab your headphones and prepare to experience it!
The Doxology is a unifying part of the week, a piece of sacred joy, and a Christian tradition. We use it to bookend talks, mark the beginning of the day, end of day and much more. It's an anthem full of praise and adoration. Beauty, to be shared.
In addition to all the challenges, students heard from Dr. John Mark Reynolds on how God's immense love gives us the ultimate confidence. We can respond as Socrates does, "Nothing bothers me" to the pain and struggles of this life.
It's not easy to say nor easy to do. It is, as John states, "So we have to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgement."
Before departing for the beach, students heard from Peter David Gross on creating community. How do we make it? What makes a good friend? Enjoy the full talk below!
Communities are forming and they will be further shaped and challenged by discussion (first one tomorrow!) and discovery as they encounter films, workshops and much more. Looking forward in the Son!
