Learn more about Entering Culture Courageously

You'll learn...

  • How our concerns for youth safety can become censoring, condescending, and hypocritical...

and how to avoid both foolishness and condescension

  • For good and for bad, the inevitability of participating in culture...

and the importance of youth leaders who explore culture alongside their children

  • The importance of living free from fear...

and how to trust God with your youth's explorations

  • How to hope higher for youth than fear would permit...

and how to provide for youth to spiritually and personally thrive on the good, the true, and the beautiful; not merely survive on the OK, the correct, and the inoffensive

  • That all good things come from God...

and to move from the good in culture to worship of the God who transcends culture

  • How to explore contemporary youth tastes and preferences to build relationships based on trust...

and become a trusted guide to the deeper cultural sources of the things they enjoy

  • How to recognize irrelevance...

and avoid offering youth embarrassing or counterproductive things as they find healthy building blocks for faithful adult identities

  • How to find excellence that looks beyond marketing budgets...

and follows the source of good things and examines the history of excellence which has stood the test of time

  • How to invite youth "further up and further in" to the best things of Christian life and faith...

and show your work so they can explore and reflect on their own after you have done all you can do

  • How to make the transition from being your youth's trusted guide to their lasting friend...

and live in the mature peer relationship between you and youth who have claimed Christian adulthood

— Ryan Lunde, College Pastor - EV Free Fullerton

“The talk Peter Gross gave to our families was more than inspiring, but deeply impactful. After only an hour and a half, I saw tangible breakthrough in the dynamics between parents and students— they laughed together, cried together, prayed together and for each other. What a blessing this was for our ministry."

— Natalie DeAngelo, Student Ministries Director - Influence Church

“Our youth group will never be the same. Through Wheatstone, my students and I have changed for the better; we’ve begun to pursue Christ more earnestly and excellently. I’m so grateful for all that God has done and will continue to do through them."

— Joshua Nordstrom, Journey of Faith Bellflower

“In my 50 years as a Christian – a majority of those years in teaching, discipling, and mentoring, this stands near the top in workshop experiences. Thank you for a stimulating and inspirational day!"

— Marolin Stempson, Santa Margarita Community Church

“A vital message for youth ministry today."

About Wheatstone

Wheatstone Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Fullerton, California that invites youth into Christian adulthood. We believe that youth ministry is the American church’s front line, and that, as a result, youth leaders have some of the church’s most vital jobs—they aren’t the second-class church workers that many have taken them to be. So, we provide youth pastors and leaders with live trainings, lectures, and resources that treat them with respect and equip them to meet today’s challenges. In a word - we train you to invite your youth into Christian adulthood.
